I am currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, and a licensed professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. My research spans the areas of image processing, computer vision, machine learning, pattern recognition and remote sensing.
