I am a professor at the Department of Informatics at the Federal University of Viçosa (DPI/UFV), in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and a Post-Doctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, at the University of São Paulo (IME/USP), in São Paulo, Brazil. My research is mainly in Machine Learning methods for medical image analysis. I have experience in Computer Science with an emphasis on Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Biomedical Image Processing, Remote Sensing, Digital Signal and Image Processing, Information Theory and Data Compression.
